Today a new “Apple” store opened in Wellington (195 Lambton Quay). It’s called The Bay and you can find it on www.thebaystore.co.nz. It really looks like they wanted to imitate the Apple Stores. I must say for the size they have done a good job. All is in sleek white and black and feels very Apple-like. They have all the current gear on display and hands-on as it should be and I was very impressed with the large choice of software in the store.
I think the store’s definitely worth a visit. It will do a lot for Wellington Mac sales. The posh stores to the left and right fit the designer ambiente. Good choice of location.
MagnumMac Wellington will definitely suffer from this new store. In comparison they have little to offer. If I’m not mistaken The Bay is even a little cheaper. They also do the whole warranty and repair thing too.
So a good day for Macs & Apple in NZ.
